3D Performance

The 3D tests are also affected by the speed of your CPU The result takes into account only screen rendering time and not your monitor refresh rate although the output is synchronized to it to keep the image quality high.
25 pixel

Performs an industry standard 25 pixel polygon test. The screen is filled with 8192 gouraud shaded, texture-mapped, bi-linear filtered and z-buffered polygons. The polygons are rendered in strips of 128 polygons to reduce polygon initialization overhead. No geometry calculation is performed at all.

Result: kilopolygons/s
Robots

Tests the 3D performance in an environment similar to game usage. It exploits:
- additive alpha rendering (spotlights)
- alpha blend rendering (two-layered clouds in the sky)
- dual texture-mapping (shiny metallic surfaces on the robots).

Result: images/s

Fill rate

Measures the amount of 16bit pixels the card is able to draw in a second. Fill rate becomes important if there is a lot of overlapping polygons in the 3D scene. This test is invisible to the user when running in demo mode.

Result: megapixels/s
City scene

Tests the 3D performance in an environment similar to game usage.
Includes:
- additive alpha rendering (spotlights, neon signs, Final Reality logo)
- alpha blend rendering (transparent fog layers)

Result: images/s
