How bus speeds affect performance

These tests depend on the bus speed, video draw speed and Direct3D texture upload.

N/A

2D Bus transfer speed

Copies data from main memory to the 2D display card's video memory. Fast transfer speed is important with e.g. games that use "software rendering" to display graphics or when used with 3D accelerators that transfer data over the computer's bus such as the NEC PowerVR.

N/A

3D Bus transfer speed

This test uploads textures to the 3D card's memory. Texture upload speed is important if the program needs to change large amounts of texture-memory. This test also gives estimates how well the card is able to perform texture caching. AGP does not affect this test and when AGP platforms and games supporting AGP become more common, this test loses some importance.
