Working at Remedy Entertainment

What have we learned over 25 years of game development? In order to bring out the best of their talent and turn it into phenomenal games, people need to be happy and motivated. This is why we do our utmost to ensure that Remedy is a great place to work at.

We offer an extensive set of employee benefits and a generous bonus system as well as opportunities for you to develop your skills further. Our teams work hard, but the time after hours is just as important, which is why we make sure you get your time off.

Time at the studio doesn’t have to be all work and no play. If you feel like it, you can take part in our movie and game nights, wellbeing afternoons or any of the various social activities Remedy employees organize with the support of the company.

Remedy has a diverse team of over 360 people and over 40 different nationalities. We value and are committed to ensuring an inclusive and safe work environment for all our employees. We believe that only with diverse teams we can make games that reflect the diversity of our player community, and we welcome people from all backgrounds to apply. All applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability status.

Remedy is located in a privately housed studio building. Our state-of-the-art facilities include a fully stocked café, private gym and restaurant with our own chef. We’re located in Finland’s capital region of Helsinki, easily accessible with public transportation. Since 2021 we have our new and growing team just next door in Stockholm, Sweden.

Family friendly Finland

Family friendly Finland

The Finnish education system is the best in the world – and it’s free! The Helsinki capital region around Remedy has a multitude of international schools and daycares where English is the main language.

Remedy offers extensive paid parental leaves: maternity leave up to four months, paternity leave up to nine weeks and parental leave shared between both parents up to six months. The company also pays your salary during childcare leave if you need to stay home with a sick child.

We also provide free Finnish language courses for employees and their family members, as well as Finlandization events where everyone can get a closer look of Finland, its culture and history.

Finland can be described as safe and clean: it’s a place where human rights and equality matter, politically stable and the least corrupt. Finland is also known as the land of a thousand lakes (actually there’s even more), though most of the country is covered by forest, both contributing to the high quality of air and drinkable tap water. Lapland in the north is the home of Santa Claus, midnight sun and northern lights.

Turnkey relocation services

Turnkey relocation services

The moment you land, we’ll have a personal assistant meet you at the airport and guide you to your temporary apartment, which is paid by the company during your first weeks in Finland.

Our relocation services will help you settle in and take care of all legal matters and logistics, including finding a permanent apartment that suits you, all the paperwork and formalities as well as showing you how to get around the city. We also offer free Finnish lessons for you and your family members at the Remedy office.

Getting (anti) social

Getting (anti) social

Remedy organizes activities for our foreign employees’ families on a monthly basis to ensure that you have a support system outside of work as well. We also have plenty of studio game and movie nights, amusement park days and holiday festivities.

On top of this all there are various clubs – football, basketball and even BBQ! – our employees have set up themselves with the company’s support. You can also just work and play games, that’s cool too.

Talent development and long career rewards

Talent development and long career rewards

Besides offering you exciting projects to work on, we want you to be able to continuously improve your skills and competences. Remedy has senior management and supervisors who will help you to make the best out of your career.

We offer many opportunities to learn such as the annual Remedy Developer Day, where we invite experienced developers from other studios to come share their knowledge with our team and vice versa. We also sponsor employees to industry events and conferences such as DevCom, GDC and Nordic Games.

Remedy also has an incentive program rewarding awesome long-term employees with additional holidays, travel and accommodation packages and other benefits.

Extensive health and leisure insurances

Extensive health and leisure insurances

Our insurances will make sure you are covered in case of an accident. After all, there is a large population of bears* in Finland… We make sure that if something happens, you will be given the very best care.

* Don’t worry. The bears hang out in Lapland with Santa Claus and his reindeers. They rarely come to Espoo.

Studio cafeteria with free snacks and beverages

Recruitment Process

Application

If you think we have an interesting job opportunity for you, apply now! We’re always discussing with interesting candidates and the positions are filled as soon as we find the right person for the job, so we hope to hear from you soon. Applying should be pretty quick and straightforward, just focus on your CV and portfolio.

Online Discussion

If you’re located outside Finland, no problem! We begin the discussion with you on Zoom or our video recruiting tool. At first we just want to know more about you and introduce ourselves. If we both think it’s a good idea to move forward, we usually arrange another online session to tell you more about the job and our projects. We also want to know more about your competences and experience. Sometimes we also ask you to do some kind of a short test.

On-site Introduction

If the interest to continue is still mutual, we invite you to our studio for an on-site introduction. You get to meet the team, learn more about the job and see our projects. It’s an opportunity for you to really get to know your friendly future colleagues and get a feeling about being part of the Remedy family. If it’s the first time for you in our lovely country, there’s usually a chance to see the capital Helsinki area. We also try to give you relevant information about living and working in Finland.

Offer

If the feeling of a match is still mutual, you get a job offer and we agree on the practicalities together. Immediately after signing the offer, we begin your relocation process to Finland and start planning your arrival and first day at Remedy. We’re already waiting for you!

Welcome to Finland

A place where internet is fast, unlimited, affordable and reliable. A safe and clean country that provides exceptional quality of life, free education and drinkable tap water. A metropolitan area that is the hub for tech and start-up scene, international travel and quirky festivals. Let us introduce you to Finland and Helsinki.

Remedy in Sweden

Hej! For talent based on the other side of the pond, we have a secondary location in Stockholm, Sweden. Much like Finland, Sweden shares the Nordic values when it comes to the preservation of our beautiful and pristine nature, free education and work life balance.
