This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains what personal and other data Remedy Entertainment Plc (Remedy Entertainment Plc and its subsidiaries, “Remedy”, “we” or “us”) collects when you visit our websites, sign-up for a Remedy playtest, play our games, or purchase our products or services (the “Services”). It also details how we use this data and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
When using our Services, your Personal Data is managed as outlined in this Policy. For the purposes of this Policy, “Personal Data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. This includes, but is not limited to, your name, contact information, online identifiers, and any other data that can be used to identify you directly or indirectly. Please note that your use of the Services is also subject to the terms of use of the applicable Service. Anonymous information that cannot be linked to you does not qualify as Personal Data.

Our websites also include links to our social media pages (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.). When you visit these pages, Personal Data may be collected by the social media platforms. We may collect Personal Data when you sign-up for a playtest of our unreleased games at https://www.remedygames.com/playtest or participate in a playtest session, either in our office or remotely. This data enables us to carry out the playtesting and helps us improve our games.

Please note that physiological response data such as heart rate and eye movement may constitute special category data under data protection laws. We only collect and process such data with your explicit consent. We do not use this data to uniquely identify you but solely to improve game design and player experience. You may withdraw your consent to the processing of this special category data at any time without affecting your participation in other aspects of our playtests.
Our Single Player Games. Our commercially released single-player games as of the date of this Policy, including Alan Wake, Alan Wake Remastered, Alan Wake 2 and Control, do not contain functionalities that collect Personal Data. Through Alan Wake 2, we receive certain anonymous and aggregated analytics data which cannot be traced back to individual players.
FBC: Firebreak. Our game FBC: Firebreak ("FBC") is a three-player cooperative experience. Because of its multiplayer nature, we need to process certain Personal Data to enable its online functionality. When players first sign up for FBC, they must give explicit consent for the collection of their Personal Data and accept this Policy. After that, data is processed automatically in the background during gameplay by us, Heroic Labs and our other partners, whose technology enables the online services. Creating an account is not required to play.
The Personal Data we collect in connection with FBC may include, but is not limited to, the following types of data:
Processing by Third-Party Platforms. When you purchase or access our games through third-party platforms, such as Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and others, these platforms will process your Personal Data independently from us. This processing may include data collected at the point of purchase, during account creation, or while using our games through their services. These third-party platforms act as separate data controllers with respect to your Personal Data and process it according to their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any such third-party platforms for information on how your data is handled. As a publisher, we may also receive aggregated or anonymized data from them when using their marketing, performance analytics, or engagement tracking services. Remedy does not receive or store any payment information. This is handled entirely by the relevant payment service provider.
Remedy maintains customer support for our self-published games, which currently include Control and FBC, in cooperation with our customer support partner Keywords International Limited. Players may contact us for customer support regarding our self-published games and such contacts will be processed by Keywords International Limited. When doing so, players may provide Personal Data such as their contact details and information relevant to resolving the issue they report.
