WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE COLLECT?
When entering into a competition, participants may be required to provide personal data to the extent necessary to identify and contact participants and winners and ensure participation takes place in accordance with the terms and conditions of the competition. In order to ensure this, Remedy may need to confirm the participant’s age or country of residence. Therefore, we may collect the following personal data:
– Social media handles
– Contact information (first and last name, email address, postal address and phone number);
We do not collect or process any personal data that is categorized as sensitive data under regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation or “GDPR”).
HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
We process your personal data for the purpose of carrying out our fan competitions. Depending on the competition in question, this may include collecting fan entries and/or contributions, contacting participants and/or winners, and posting or otherwise delivering prizes.
Information regarding age may be collected to ensure participants qualify for participation in accordance with the terms and conditions of the competition at hand.
We do not share your personal data, except as specifically approved by you or as described below:
– We may engage other companies or individuals to perform tasks on our behalf. These third parties may have access to your personal data.
– We may release your personal data as permitted or required by applicable law.
– We may share aggregate or anonymous information about you with advertisers, publishers, business partners, sponsors, and other third parties.
TRANSFERS TO THIRD COUNTRIES
Personal data in the European Union is protected by the General Data Protection Regulation, but other countries do not necessarily protect your personal information at the same level of protection.
Our Websites and some of our applications or services or parts thereof may also be hosted in the United States or otherwise outside of the EEA (which means all the EU countries plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, “EEA”) and this means that we may transfer any of the personal data collected hereunder outside the EEA to the United States or other territories outside of the EEA.
We may also provide aggregate or anonymous data about you to advertisers, partners and publishers in third countries.
We take steps to ensure that when your information is transferred outside of the EEA by our service providers and hosting providers, appropriate measures and controls are in place to protect that information in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations. In each case, such transfers are made in accordance with the requirements of the GDPR and may be based on the use of the European Commission’s Standard Model Clauses for transfers of personal data outside the EEA.
HOW IS YOUR DATA STORED?
We will store your data on a local password protected file.
HOW LONG DO WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
The personal data we process is retained only as long as necessary for the purpose of organizing and finalize the competition in connection to which the personal data has been given, unless longer retention is required by applicable local law or where we have a legitimate and lawful purpose for doing so.
ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA, CORRECTION AND RIGHT TO BE FORGOTTEN
You have the right to access your personal data we have collected and to receive a copy of the personal data you have provided for us. If you would like to have a copy of your personal data, please contact us at [email protected]. We may take a small charge for this service.
We try to make sure that your personal data is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.
You have the right to withdraw your consent regarding the processing of your personal data and require us to erase your personal data from our registers. However, please note that doing so while the competition is ongoing or prizes are yet to be submitted to their recipients might automatically void and cancel your participation in the competition.
If you would like to withdraw your consent and have your personal data erased, please contact us at [email protected]. We will comply with your request, unless there is a lawful reason for not doing so. For example, there may be an overriding legitimate ground for keeping your personal data, such as a legal obligation that we have to comply with, or if retention is necessary for us to comply with our legal obligations.
YOUR RIGHT TO LODGE A COMPLAINT
You have the right to complain about how we process your personal data by contacting us at [email protected]. If you feel that your complaint has not been handled in a sufficient manner, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in the European Union Member State of your habitual residence.
